Thanks to Qiyan, Antoine, and the guests who flew in from four continents to make their Chicago wedding as amazing as it was.

The ceremony took place at the Joseph Bond Chapel on the University of Chicago campus, while the reception took place inside and out of the David and Alfred Smart Museum of Art. We couldn't pass it up.

According to Antoine, family and friends flew in from France, China, Australia, and San Francisco, which meant there were conversations throughout the day in Chinese, French, and of course, English.

It was a good day.

There was so much to take in at Steve and Elizabeth's wedding it's hard to say where to begin. Maybe with the buttons.

The buttons on Elizabeth's dress came from the dress her mother wore to her own wedding. Her mother sewed the buttons onto her dress in Elizabeth's childhood home the morning of the wedding.

The date of the wedding was the 40th anniversary of Elizabeth's parents' wedding, which took place in the same church-St. Cletus Parish in La Grange-that they were married in that afternoon. Steve and Elizabeth would later perform a duet for her parents that evening, with Steve at the piano and Elizabeth at the microphone.

Oh. Did we mention that Steve is a musician in Texas, and that his brother, who was also his best man, is a musician, and that he played during the ceremony? And that Elizabeth is an actress in New York? And that seemingly half of the people who came to the wedding were excellent swing dancers? They danced the night away at the Seven Bridges Golf Club in Woodridge.

It was an amazing day. We left home around 11 in the morning and didn't get back until around 2 the following morning. It was worth it.
